The mission of We Care About People, Inc. is to provide hot, healthy, balanced meals to residents that do not have facilities to prepare meals due to their current housing-insecure circumstances.

We began our mission by sharing leftover food from monthly events at our church. The church events were streamlined from monthly to quarterly in 2018, but the needs of the housing-insecure and hungry community continued to grow. 

A few individuals agreed to meet their needs by continuing the monthly meal service. During a delivery of surplus food from an event in May 2018, we learned that no meals had been served to housing-insecure residents in three days due to daily thunderstorms. This is when we adopted Thursday each week to provide a hot meal each week in addition to the monthly breakfast. Our services were expanded to include Monday dinner service in March 2019. 

We now provide hot meals twice a week on Monday and Thursday for dinner in addition to major holidays. 

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
